People often look at a map and see Thailand and Denmark as two completely opposite corners of the world. One is filled with tropical warmth, bustling night markets, and ancient traditions; the other is shaped by quiet landscapes, changing seasons, and a peaceful way of living. For a long time, I felt divided between these two worlds, wondering where I truly belonged.
But as a single mother raising Amanda, Nicklas, Tobias, and Daniel, I discovered something beautiful. Having two cultures doesn’t mean your heart is split in half—it means your world is twice as large. It means being a bridge that connects different values, traditions, and stories.
This realization is the very reason I sat down at my computer to write these books. I am gathering my recollections not just as a travel diary, but as a legacy for my children. I want them to carry pieces of my story, to understand their unique heritage, and to know that no matter how far they explore, home is never far away when love binds us together. The pages of this book are my ultimate gift to them—a map of where we come from, and a reminder of how deeply they are cherished.
